Hamod arrived in the UK in 2021 after a difficult time in his home country of Nigeria. Hamod knew he needed to go to college to gain Maths and English qualifications and decided to try numerous areas to get a feel of what he wanted to do. As the year progressed, Hamod displayed high levels of dedication and personal determination in classes; this led to him achieving all his original aims discussed on enrolment and developing his English skills to be able to hold advanced conversations.
Alongside completing qualifications in a number of different fields such as Construction, Warehousing and Care; Hamod has also completed a work experience placement at British Heart Foundation.
While at BHF, Hamod found himself enjoying all aspects of the job and gained experience in warehousing and really enjoyed progressing into a customer service role, helping customers around the shop floor.
Hamod said – “I am really happy with all the help I received from the tutors at Rocket. They were always there to help and advise me whenever I needed them. I am looking forward to going to college now.”
Hamod’s tutor said – “Hamod has shown hard work and determination, these have been the main reasons how he has achieved what he has this year.”
